Christmas Day - Part 1

Baby C received this hat from her great grandmother. It barely fit on her head, but we had to try. We were able to sleep in that morning. We wanted to start our own tradition, so we made a huge breakfast before opening our gifts. Baby C sat at the table with us after having her more bottle. I'll admit it, we had enough food for several families when it was just my DH and I eating. Plus, I don't think we ate as much as we normally would. We were just too excited!
I picked up this sleeper a while back (I think at K.ohls). It fit great, but the space between each button bulged out. Although, I still think she looked adorable for Christmas morning!
Baby C loved her stocking. This came in the M.acy's basket we won at the party earlier this month.
Before the evening's festivities, Baby C ate rice, had another bottle and a long nap. She had been a busy, busy baby.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning was spent getting things finished up around the house. We also finished preparing everything that we would be taking to all of the holiday festivities. We left our house a little around 1pm to head to my inlaw's house. We ate around 2pm. Their meal is a little more informal (we sit on the couches and watch tv while we eat). It was a great meal followed by tons of snacks. Soon after we were finished eating, it was time to open up the presents. My DH's oldest brother and his family was there. His youngest brother was there also and his girlfriend came later after eating with some of her family. The three grand-daughthers opened their presents first.
DH and Baby C before leaving.
She had so much fun with her gifts. But, of course, the paper and ribbon went straight to her mouth.
My DH's mother asked what we would like for Baby C. We picked out this wagon for her to start using this coming spring. Well, apparently she didn't stop her. We loaded up the wagon after Baby C received the rest of her gifts from my inlaws and uncles.
Baby C got really tired. So, after a bottle and diaper change she slept on the same bean bag that she did during our Thanksgiving festivities.

Adoption Poems & Videos

I have read many poems and watched many vidoes related to adoption, but silly me has forgotten to bookmark many of them. If you know of any sites and/or if you have blog posts with something you want to me to read or see, please leave a comment. I am really interested.

Baby C & Carrots

Last Wednesday, Baby C had her second baby food. Carrots. She loves them, but they make a mess. Note to self: Baby C must wear a plastic bib. Carrots stain everything. They even stain her spoon.

Zoo Lights

Tuesday was my last day of work before our Christmas break. When I got home, my DH had a great idea. He wanted us to go to the F.estival of the L.ights at our zoo. We left not too long after we got home. Beyond hungry, we stopped to eat at C.hipotle on our way. We got to the zoo a little after 6pm. The place was pretty packed. We didn't get too see a ton of animals, but we did get to see tons of lights. I didn't get many pictures, but here are a few.
(Baby C all bundled up.)
The pictures do not do the event justice. There are LIGHTS everyone. Plus, there are other holiday decorations and characters walking around. The petting zoo was busy, busy when we went by. I am sure that we will be back next year. Did I mention... we got engage at the F.estival of the Lights 12.17.05. It was nice to finally go back.

First Foods

Baby C is getting so big. Last Thursday, on her 5 month birthday, she had her first baby food out of a jar. She is now eating sweet potatoes along with her formula, rice and oatmeal. We plan to introduce one new food at a time to make sure that she doesn't have any reations to anything.

ICLW

We have been blessed. That's all I can say.

*I love this outfit! We bought it at O.nce U.pon A C.hild (a local consignment store) for a couple of dollars. It's The P.lace brand. We also got the shoes at the same store for just a few dollars.

Second Snow Day - Part 2

On B.lack F.riday, I bought an ornament making kit from M.ichael's. Even though Baby C was too young to help this year, I am so happy that I took the time to put several of these together.
I made some for our immediate family. I hope to get most of them out to them soon so that they can hang them on their trees this year. On the back, I wrote the year and her name. I plan to make something like these each year.
Here is the one I put on our tree.

Second Snow Day - Part 1

Last Friday (12.16.10), we had our second snow day. We got a ton accomplished around the house. And, of course, we had a lot of fun. My DH and I made Human Puppy Chow
Here is what you need:

8 cups of Rice Chex or Corn Chex (we used rice)
Powered Sugar (as much as your heart desires)
2/3 cup of Creamy Peanut Butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
(Note: We used all off brands!)

All we did was microwave and stir the peanut butter and chocolate. Then, we added that mixute to the Chex, in a bowl, and mixed it together the best that we could. Finally, we put some of it in a z.iplock bag with some powered sugar (we added a ton of sugar). Then, we shook it up! After we had sugared all of the peanut butter chocolate covered chex, we let it all cool on wax paper. Since this is just for us we are just eating it off of the pan. But, this would be a great snack to take to an upcoming holiday party, send to your child's school, your place of work, etc... Some people like to add peanuts and/or raisins to their Human P.uppy C.how. We perfer the sweet stuff only!

P.S - I suggest having a big cup a milk close by!
