Another Amazing Meeting

Thursday after work and picking up Baby C from the babysitter's, we quickly got things ready and headed down the road. We stopped for a quick snack and got to the agency right on time. Walking in, I always have butterflies. I know that she can see us out the window, but we can't see her.

When we got to the agency's door, one the SWs (the one that worked with our BM a lot), met us at the door. She said something to the point of, "there's a lot of excitement in there!" When the door opened, we saw our BM, her friend (the one that was there for the delivery and our first meeting) and an intern (who had been adopted and spoke to our homestudy education class).

Smiles were plastered on all of our faces. The usual talk proceeded. How was everyone? Look at Baby C go! Etc... Baby C's BM saw her last in February; Baby C has changed a ton since then (teeth, sippy cup, new foods, crawling, pulling up, waving, 'talking' more and so much more). Everyone was filled with excitement. Baby C played, played and played some more. She even took off her shoes and socks to get comfy.

We were expecting to see our SW there (the one who conducted our homestudy education courses and had completed most of our home visits). We had confirmed with her the night before, but knew that her daugther was expecting at any moment. Well, Thursday was the day! But, we were fine without her. We are actually getting to the point where we are ready to start meeting outside of the agnecy and perhaps without a SW there.

Baby C's BM told us about the day she received the first email we had since her. She was thrilled! She brought tons of gifts and cards for Baby C and us. Some of the cards we opened there and others we read in the car ride home and later the next day.
You can probably tell by looking at the clothes where Baby C's BM works at part-time.
Yes, Baby C's BM loves cards!

During the meeting we also gave Baby C's BM two cards. One was for Birthmother's Day. She had no idea that it was even celebrated. The other card was for her upcoming birthday. We bought this charm and braclet for her.
She loved it! She had her friend put it on her immediately.

The meeting lasted almost an hour and a half. We discussed meeting elsewhere next time.We asked about the BF coming and her mother. Hopefully, someday it will happen. We talked about her cancer. She is currently going through radiation and takes a chemo pills. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts. Hugs and few pictures later, it was time to head home. Until next time, we think of her often...

What a great visit! Love the bracelet you got her and how sweet of you to think of her on birthmothers day.

Oh, what a wonderful visit! I am so jealous, since our only 2 visits took place in the VERY uncomfortable setting of a prison! BUT, T gets out this month and I cannot wait for her to come visit us in our home and really have some fun with her:). Thanks for sharing!

So sorry about her cancer, how is she feeling? I'll keep her in my prayers. I'm so glad to hear how well things are going between both of C's families, I pray if we end up adopting that we can have the same type of relationship.
